Radiohead back in the studio in January

In news that I must cover since I’m clearly biased towards Radiohead, Thom Yorke and the Oxford boys will be heading into the studio in January to start recording, according to a post from guitarist Ed O’Brien on their website.

O’Brien was commenting on Thom Yorke’s recent trip to Copenhagen for the conference on climate change. He felt that his post was getting a bit too negative so he switched gears and wrote that the band was heading into the studio in January.

“The vibe in the camp is fantastic at present, and we head off into the studio in January to continue on from the work we started last Summer” wrote O’Brien. “I am so genuinely excited about what we’re doing, but for obvious reasons I can’t divulge anything more.. anyway we all love surprises don’t we?”

This bit of news is quite exciting since earlier this year O’Brien mentioned that the band was planning on releasing their eighth album. He made the remark after Thom Yorke said that he wasn’t interested in releasing full length albums any more. So it’s good to know that we have more concrete proof of a new album coming soon.

BTW, we just released our top 10 albums of the decade. If you’d like to see where RH placed on that list then click here.
