Who the heck is Andrew W.K.?

Look at that face to the left. That bloody visage is the man who has been telling us for years to party hard and party til you puke. That man is Andrew W.K…or is it?
Over the past few days, Andrew has been tweeting up a storm about a conspiracy as to how he’s a real boy but he works with a lot of people to create Andrew W.K. but he’s still a real artist. Frankly, us RiO!B staffers were a bit perplexed as to exactly what the fuck he was talking about. Had he finally partied too hard and leapt off the deep end?
In a recent statement by Andrew (via TwentyFourBit) we get a bit of clarity over the whole “is he real/is he not real” debate. Andrew addresses the name Steev Mike and how he’s been embroiled in a conspiracy which claims that Steev Mike is a group of creative directors that “created” the being known as Andrew W.K.
Andrew goes on to vehemently deny these allegations of false partying when he says “I’m here to say this is simply not true and a gross exaggeration of easily explainable and common-place music industry practices.” But then Andrew goes on to say that he has worked with people who have given him advice about what to do and how to act on stage.
The post then goes on to talk about how musicians are not evil, there is no global conspiracy, he’s not trying to create anything bad….ugh my head hurts. Essentially, Andrew says that yes he works with people who help to shape his image and music but he’s not doing anything bad to hurt your children.
You know what? How about you read the statement for yourself and figure it out because I still have no idea what’s going on. I’ll be at my liquor cabinet.
