Slayer cancels American Carnage tour

Weak! That’s probably the best way to sum up the news that Slayer had to cancel their American Carnage tour with Megadeth and Testament.
Buzzgrinder reports that Slayer bassist Tom Araya has continued having back problems even though he’s tried many different medical procedures.
Slayer’s manager Rick Sales commented on the situation. “Tom gave various medical treatments more than a fair shot but they just haven’t handled the problem, so he’s biting the bullet and is scheduled for back surgery at the end of this month.”
While he hope that Tom gets better soon and has a speedy recovery, there’s going to be quite a few upset fans. But all hope is not lost as the dates for the tour may be rescheduled for this summer so hang on to your ticket stubs.
Meanwhile the band Megadeth is planning a U.S. tour for the months of March and April (via Blabbermouth). So one way or another the U.S. will get some form of live thrash metal.
