Gorillaz update new album status via Murdoc’s twitter



2010 is the year we finally get new material from everyone’s favorite animated foursome, Gorillaz, via their new album Plastic Beach. Updates are slowly making their way onto the interwebs thanks to the most mischievous member of the band, Murdoc Niccals, by way of his twitter account (via NME).

Some of the more recent posts from the band badass include lines like “Urrp!! Just finished mixing new Gorillaz track with er….‘My ARSE’!. Sounds pretty good…Can’t wait to play it.”

Other colorful 140 character entries include “Oh yeah, Gorillaz fans. I’m far, far, far away. On a big piece of plastic floating in the middle of nowhere. Just so you know.” Then of course there’s the much more forward entry when he said “Album almost finished. Drinks being mastered. Isolation kicking in. Bucket of Propofol to help me sleep. Happy 2010!!!”

There’s also some speculation that Murdoc may preview some of the new songs by tweeting that he had bought a transmitter. “Showaddywaddy? I haven’t been through this record box for some time…maybe I should play these new Gorillaz tunes I’ve been working on.”

My advice? Start following Murdoc on Twitter. You get to find out what’s happening with Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s animated group and get yourself a good laugh as well.
