Killers going on hiatus

The word “hiatus”, especially when it comes to bands, can strike fear into any fan’s heart. Does it mean they’re going on a short break or is it another word for “break up”? In any case, synth-rockers The Killers have taken the word “hiatus” and applied it to themselves.
Consequence of Sound reports that Brandon Flowers and his merry men are going on hiatus after their show in Melbourne, Australia on February 21st.
Guitarist Dave Keuning shed some light as to why the band has decided to go on this indefinite break. “We haven’t had a break in quite a while. It’s just been touring and making records and on and on and on. It’s been like six years just kind of connected together.” He went on to say that unless the band does a surprise gig they are officially taking a break.
