Jane’s Addiction head into the studio



Monday we get together to write new music and craft a future.

Those were the words written by Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Ferrell when responding to a fan’s question on Facebook.

Blabbermouth (via The Pulse of Radio) reports that the original lineup of Jane’s Addiction (Ferrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, bassist Eric Avery) went into the recording studio on January 18th to start work on a brand new album.

This is actually the second time that the band has been in the recording studio because, according to Ferrell, things didn’t exactly work out they way they should have. “We started to record and things got kind of ugly. You know, it’s one of those things where the headbutting really came out when we tried to write and people were like, ‘Well, I don’t like that . . . ‘ But you know what? I’m very patient, because it’s only been, what, 18 years, so I can’t expect things overnight to be perfect.”

The original lineup of the band reunited last summer as well when they went on the NIN/JA tour with Nine Inch Nails.

Avery’s participation, however, has been called into question considering he missed a New Year’s Eve show and was excluded from a recent band photo. However he has been confirmed to perform shows with JA in Australia next month.

Here’s hoping that the band can put aside creative differences (and Perry’s hot freak of a wife) and get to work on creating a kick ass record. Fingers crossed.
