Radiohead raise half a million for Haiti

On Sunday night a benefit concert for Haiti was held at the Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. Approximately $572,754 was raised for the devastated island nation. Was this a concert with a gaggle of bands and guests? Nope. Just one band raised all that cashish and that was Radiohead.

In a special one-off concert where the minimum price for a ticket was $475, the Oxford five treated the crowd to large portions of their catalog. Songs included the classics like “Fake Plastic Trees”, “Lucky” and “Everything In Its Right Place” but they also offered the crowd a brand new song called “Lotus Flower” that Thom originally debuted with his Eraser band last summer in L.A. (via TwentyFourBit)

All the proceeds from that night’s concert went to Oxfam which will go to getting supplies and essentials for the people in Haiti. The boys of Radiohead get a gold star for not only playing an incredible show but also raising a lot of money for a good cause.
