Sigur Rós on break for 2010

While many bands are releasing some great albums this year, other bands look at 2010 as their time to get away. The Killers and TV on the Radio are just a few of those groups and now we can add Icelandic ambient-rockers Sigur Rós to the list.
Consequence of Sound (via Spinner) reports that the band has absolutely no plans to release a record this year and are on an indefinite break.
Frontman Jonsi Birgisson confirmed this fact while rumors of a new album were swirling about. “We haven’t got another [Sigur Rós] album ready. It was just a rumour. We started to record something, but then we chucked it all away. So I think we are going to have to start it all again,” he said.
“Yes we are on a break at the moment. Everybody in the band is having babies.”
Jonsi, however, plans to have a busy year as he’ll play the Coachella festival and his solo debut album, Go, out on March 22.
