Liam Gallagher releasing new record in July

Liam Gallagher is continuing to blaze down a musical path without his brother/former bandmate Noel as he announced that his first record after Oasis will be out hopefully this July.

NME reports that Liam and the rest of his band mates, in the still unnamed band, have eight songs that they’re taking into the studio soon.

“A lot of these songs I wrote before the band [Oasis] split up,” Liam said. “”We’re going in [the studio] in April with a producer, we’re going to do three songs with him and if he doesn’t balls it up and we don’t balls it up then we’ll go in and do the whole album with him.”

Of course what would any interview with Liam be without mentioning his brother/arch-nemesis Noel. He brought up his brother when talking about the path he would have like to see Oasis go down.

“I think we should have made better, bigger albums. Or more albums. Having like four or five years off is just no good. Obviously Noel (Gallagher) wanted a bit of time off and we don’t. The band split in August – we was in the studio in November ‘cos we’re mad for it.”

So if this album should see the light of day this summer, it could very well be Liam’s judgement day. Will the album suck without the guitar stylings of Noel Gallagher or will it actually have legs to stand on? The clock is ticking down to July.
