New Dead Weather album out in April

Some good news from the rock music world after a dreary Sunday with the Grammys taking over everyone’s Twitter feeds. Thanks to our good friends over at TwentyFourBit we now know that the new Dead Weather album will be out this April.

Jack White recently did a telephone interview with Triple J radio in Australia and outlined what the future plans of the Dead Weather exactly were.

“[The Dead Weather are] finishing recording the last couple of songs and then I’m going to start mixing in the next two weeks, so yeah it should be out in April,” said Mr. White. It should also be noted that the first single from the new album, “Blue Blood Blues”, will feature White on lead vocals instead of Alison Mosshart.

As for the new album’s sound, White said that it “is bluesier and heavier than we ever thought we could be.”

Also, White announced that the SXSW festival would see the arrival of the famous Third Man Records pop-up store. So if you plan on frequenting SXSW this year, might I suggest a trip to their tiny boutique so that you may purchase some quality vinyl from the Third Man catalog.
