Chickenfoot working on second album

The oddly named supergroup Chickenfoot, comprising of Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Chad Smith and Michael Anthony, have begun work on a second album.
“The four of us are all on the same page as far as this project goes, we’re all committed to doing a Chickenfoot number two,” said guitarist Satriani to BestOfWNY.com. “As a matter of fact, Sammy and I have already begun the writing process together.”
The band’s self-titled debut album sold over 500,000 copies and got praise from a few critics but didn’t really impact the rock music landscape like many of us thought it would. Also, drummer Chad Smith is working with his band Red Hot Chili Peppers again. So how would a second album be made if all members are not accounted for?
“The beauty of this band is the respect we have for one another’s time and career aspirations,” Satriani said. “I’m getting set for the Experience Hendrix tour next month and writing for a new record, Sammy’s busy doing a million things at once, Chad’s back working with the Chili Peppers and Mike’s busy being Mike.”
As for Sammy’s “million things at once”, one of those projects may include possibly being the new lead singer for Aerosmith, according to unnamed sources who told Classic Rock magazine they have it on “good authority”. But Hagar’s manager John Carter immediately squashed that rumor.
“Good authority must mean The Enquirer because his Led Zep gig conflicts with the Aerosmith job . . . Seriously, Sam is very happy to be going into the studio with Chickenfoot to start the second album in April.”
