The Strokes hoping to release new album in September

If there is a hipster-rock God (would that also be Lemmy from Motorhead?) then he will make drummer Fab Moretti’s statement that a new Strokes album will hopefully be out this September come true.
NME.com reports that The Strokes are hoping to have their fourth album in stores this coming fall. Moretti explained to BBC Newsbeat that the band is making progress on the new record.
“”We’ve been recording a bunch – basic tracks are done. Now we’re just running around like kids in a candy shop.”
As to how the writing sessions are going, Moretti said that they’re “pretty much a free for all – whoever has the best idea [contributes]… coming back in and writing music was kind of like riding a bicycle”.
If The Strokes do come out with the new album in September then their upcoming gigs at the Isle of Wight and Rockness festivals will focus quite a bit on the new tunes. Here’s hoping a new album comes our way in the next few months.
