Eric Clapton sets up Crossroads Festival

The guitar legend known as Eric Clapton has decided to grab some of the best guitar players around and put them in one place for everybody to hear. That event is known as the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival.
Clapton has enlisted the skills of artists like B.B. King, ZZ Top, The Allman Brothers Band, Buddy Guy, Steve Winwood, Jeff Beck, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow and John Mayer (who’s in a bit of hot water these days) to play the festival that will take place on June 26 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL.
“The Crossroads Festival is the realization of a dream for me, to gather a group of amazingly talented musicians to perform on one stage,” Clapton said of the guitar mecca. “The Crossroads performers are all musicians I admire and respect.”
The last time the Festival was held was back in 2007 also in Toyota Park and before that was in 2004 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. Other performers for this year’s event will include Robert Cray, Keb’ Mo’, Robert Randolph, Jimmie Vaughn and Doyle Bramhall II.
Tickets for the festival are going on sale February 20 and will start off at $100. You can get yourself some tickets over at Ticketmaster. All the proceeds will go to benefit Clapton’s Crossroads Centre which is a drug rehab clinic in Antigua that he started back in 1998.
