Robert Plant releasing solo album

While John Paul Jones plays in Them Crooked Vultures and Jimmy Page sits around reminding himself how amazing he is, former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is keeping himself busy in 2010 by releasing a solo album.
According to ledzeppelinnews.com, Plant is set to release a new solo record called It’s Rude To Say No later on this year. The website spoke with Darrell Scott, one of the artists playing on Plant’s album, about the experience of working with a rock legend.
“Those two-plus weeks were some of the most memorable times I’ve ever had in the studio,” said Scott. “The number-one thing is that Robert loves music. You think they’re posing and just getting through it, but I was humbled with how Robert Plant loved the music — old country, blues, rockabilly.”
There’s no release date yet for the new album but it was recorded in Nashville, TN and Plant is working with producer Buddy Miller.
It’s good to see that Robert is keeping busy but we all know what we really want him to do. Just one tiny, itsy-bitsy Led Zep reunion tour…or at least play next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

[...] If Jimmy Page is out there, we’d like you to know that The Who’s Roger Daltrey is looking for you. The Super Bowl singer spoke to BBC 6 Radio (via Spinner) and talked about how he wants to team up with the Led Zeppelin axeman. “I’d love to do something, I’d love to do an album with Jimmy Page,” Daltrey said. “He needs a singer to drive him. I’m a great blues singer. I don’t sing the blues with The Who, but that’s what I used to be before Townshend started writing. I used to be a great blues singer.” Hmmm? Well let’s see. We’ve already got one member of Led Zep in a supergroup. Do I see an impending battle of the bands on the horizon? Well if Pete Townshend’s tinnitus gets any worse then it may be possible. As for Robert Plant? Yeah we know he’s not interested in Zeppelin. [...]
