We like rock music more than you. It's just the way it is…

After nearly forgetting about this, rock star/horrible mess Courtney Love has decided to finally release the album Nobody’s Daughter on April 27th. Once upon a time this was Love’s solo record but then she changed it into a full on Hole album.

Now I’ll give credit where it’s due. Back when Hole was a band you actually wanted to listen to, we all knew that Courtney Love was crazy. But I’ll be damned if that she couldn’t write some good songs to rock out to. Nowadays, however, it’s almost kind of heartbreaking to see her have to struggle to find a record label to release her album on (that label, btw, is Mercury/IDJ).

Spin.com did an article on Love and the shit she’s gone through just to get this album done. Between working on it for over five years and having collaborators like Billy Corgan and producer Michael Beinhorn back out of the project due to her “fragmented focus”, it’s easy to dismiss Love as a burnt out performer who’s desperately trying to achieve her former glory.

“She had a lot of things going on in her personal life that made it impossible to do the sort of work that I wanted,” said Beinhorn, who produced her 1998 album Celebrity Skin.

Oh yeah, her personal life. Like rambling on Twitter about how she was going to sue Rock Band for ruining Kurt Cobain’s image even though she signed papers to have his likeness and voice used in the game. Or how about when a judge takes her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, and puts her in the care of her grandmother because Love can’t take care of her. Or her stints in rehab due to popping God knows how many pills.

It also doesn’t help when the founding guitarist of Hole, Eric Erlandson, completely objects to Love using the band name Hole on the record when no other members from the band are on it. Right now, “Hole” consists of Love, guitarist Micko Larkin, bassist Shawn Dailey and drummer Stuart Fisher. Jack Irons, former drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam, played drums for this record.

Let’s just say that if Courtney has been working on Nobody’s Daughter for five years then it absolutely needs to show. If that record is not 100% dynamite then the show is over. Well the show’s been over for a long time so someone will have to come out on stage and drag Courtney off of it.
