Lollapalooza rumors begin

And the rumors (rumours?) have begun. The massive summer festival, Lollapalooza, isn’t anywhere near announcing their lineup for the 2010 version of their musical carnival but earlier today there were three “leaked” headliners announced.

Consequence of Sound (via The Daily Swarm) are reporting that the three headliners are Lady Gaga, Green Day and Soundgarden. None of these headliners are anywhere near confirmed but it does make sense.

Lady Gaga is currently one of the biggest musical stars on the planet and performing at a huge festival would only make sense. Green Day, while I wasn’t the biggest fan of their new record, can still draw thousands of diehard fans that will happily sing their anthemic punk-rock songs.

Finally, Soundgarden has already announced that they’re reuniting and they might play the Sonisphere festival in Europe so why not play Perry Ferrell’s festival for an American debut?

Our buddies at CoS are the go to website for festival rumors and lineups so keep tabs on them. But when the Lolla lineup is officially announced, rest assured we’ll have it here.

UPDATE: It’s just been announced that The Strokes and Arcade Fire are also playing the Chicago festival. I hope all these acts are confirmed because I may have to buy a ticket back to my home state if all these bands are playing.
