Rare Metallica recording is found
It’s one thing to discover your favorite band but it’s another thing to come across really rare recordings that have never been heard by anyone. Our buds at Consequence Of Sound (via The Metal Den) came across that type of recording from Metallica.

Back when Metallica was just starting out and had Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine as their guitar player, they practiced in someone’s garage just like every other band. The garage belonged to their first bass player, Rob McGoveny, and the song was called “Hit The Lights” which would later appear on their debut album Kill ‘Em All.
The 1982 recording features only Mustaine on guitar duty since James Hetfield still wasn’t an experience enough axeman. This Metallica lineup wouldn’t last too long though. Mustaine and McGoveny would be replaced by current guitarist Kirk Hammett and Cliff Burton.
Check out the song down below and prepare to be wowed by the young and, still inexperienced, rock legends Metallica.

James was a little reluctant to play guitar in the early days. They did entire gigs with just Dave on guitar.
