New Jimi Hendrix album streaming online

The brand new album from guitar god Jimi Hendrix, Valleys of Neptune, hits shelves next Tuesday, March 9. However, if you can’t wait to hear the 12 new tracks, then you’ll be happy to know the record is streaming online.
The good folks at iheartradio.com have posted the album in its entirety for your listening pleasure. The songs were all recorded within a four-month period in 1969 at Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios in New York City. These were the final studio recordings that the Jimi Hendrix Experience the group put down on tape for the follow up to the album Electric Ladyland.
2010 marks the 40th anniversary of Hendrix’s death. His sister Janie, who is the CEO of Experience Hendrix LLC, spoke about what Valleys of Neptune meant to her brother.
“My brother Jimi was at home in the studio. Valleys of Neptune offers deep insight into his mastery of the recording process and demonstrates the fact that he was as unparalleled a recording innovator as he was a guitarist. His brilliance shines through on every one of these precious tracks.”
In addition to new original Hendrix compositions, the album boasts covers from bands like Cream (“Sunshine Of Your Love”) and Elmore James’s “Bleeding Heart”. The full tracklist is down below.
