OK Go form their own record label

The band that currently holds the world title for best music videos has now said damn the man and struck out on their own.

OK Go has left their long time record label, EMI, to begin their own label called Paracadute. With this move, the band will now exclusively oversee the promotion and distribution functions of the band. They are also planning a huge new promotional campaign for their album Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky.

Lead singer Damian Kulash talked about parting ways with their former label. “We’d like to thank the people who have worked so hard on our behalf and we’d like to thank our fans for making this choice an easy one for us.”

The change goes into effect on April 1st. OK Go won’t miss a second as the band plans on extensively touring throughout the U.S. and Canada from April through June where they’ll play the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee. All the tour dates are down below.
