The Strokes are confirmed for Lollapalooza

If you were wondering what U.S. music festival to hit up this summer then this bit of info may help to make your decision.
According to the Chicago Tribune, The Strokes have been confirmed to play the Lollapalooza festival this summer in Chicago, IL.
Julian Casablancas said that the band are fielding a bunch of amazing offers for them to play. “It feels great, because I remember people writing things like ‘We’ll see if they’re still around in 10 years’ when we first came out.”
The Strokes are the first headliners to be confirmed for the festival. Other rumored headliners that are most likely to happen include Arcade Fire, Green Day, Soundgarden, Lady Gaga and possibly Phoenix.
In other just as awesome Strokes news, Casablancas also said that the brand new album the band has been working on is just about done.
“I think it’ll be out in September,” he said. “I’ve written a lot of melodies for it, but the other guys have also contributed a lot more: melodies, choruses, parts. It’s way more collaborative. So it’ll have a different feel than our other albums.”
Looks like it’s gonna be a Strokes filled summer. I’ll have to grab my suntan lotion and vintage leather jacket.
