160 arrested at Metallica concert in Colombia

There are plenty of bands around the world that make some people say they “would do anything” to see them at least once. In the case of 160 Metallica fans in Colombia, that “anything” would be starting a riot outside the venue and then getting arrested.

Metallica was playing a concert in Bogota, Columbia on Wednesday night to a sold-out crowd of 60,000 at Simon Bolivar Park. Those that couldn’t get inside, however, decided to get a bit rowdy.

Fans began trashing street signs, breaking windows and even threw bricks at the police that came to break up all the rioting. In the end, over 160 people were arrested while hundreds of others were sprayed with fire hoses and hit with tear gas bombs. You can see raw video of the rioting up top.

This isn’t the first time Metallica has made ticketless fans go crazy in South America. Earlier this January, in Chile, over 100 people were arrested for trying to crash the gates of a Metallica show. I guess South American fans are really passionate about their music. Or just really stupid.
