We like rock music more than you. It's just the way it is…

It’s good to know that Wolf Parade are still around. I was beginning to wonder what happened to those guys.

Turns out that the band is releasing a brand new album, their third, called Expo 86 and it should be in stores on June 29th (via CoS). Also, the band has plotted out a summer tour so all of you can see them in person. Ain’t that just the sweetest thing?

Frontman Dan Boeckner talked to Pitchfork about the new album and called it “the most fun I’ve had recording a Wolf Parade record, ever.”

He also explained how the album differs from the band’s 2008 album At Mount Zoomer:

There’s a lot more uptempo stuff on it than there was in the last record. But it’s really dense. All the songs and arrangements are really, really dense. And it sounds like a band playing live. Parts of it are pretty noisy, too, which I’m pretty happy with. I really liked making the last record, and I felt like it was a good snapshot of where the band was at at the time we recorded those songs. But I think this one is a little more faithful to the main aesthetic behind Wolf Parade.

As for those tour dates, Wolf Parade will kick things off on April 3rd in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and come to a halt on September 15th in London. All the dates are down below and you’ll be able to purchase tickets over here.
