Doves are not splitting up after tour

Set your mind at ease. Doves are not splitting up anytime soon.

In a recent interview with The Observer, guitarist Jez Williams said that the band’s current tour promoting their greatest hits album The Places Between: The Best Of Doves would probably be their last one. Williams now says he was misquoted (via NME).

“It is our last tour for a bit. I never said forever,” he said. Phew. That was a close one.

Drummer Andy Williams, when he heard about the apparent break-up, had a bit of a freak out moment. “I was like: ‘The band are splitting up!? No one told me.”

The new greatest hits album is in stores today. It’s a two-disc LP and also features b-sides, unreleased songs and brand new material including the songs “Blue Water”, “Drifter” and their newest single “Andalucia”.
