NIN’s Pretty Hate Machine to be re-released

If you’re someone that doesn’t own Nine Inch Nails debut album, Pretty Hate Machine, you’re missing out on some amazing tuneage.
What’s even worse is that the album was extremely difficult to find in record stores because the label that released it, TVT Records, was involved in bankruptcy proceeding for years. But, I’m happy to write, the record will be back on shelves soon enough.
A music publishing firm called Bicycle Music recently bought the original TVT master tapes, which includes NIN’s album and other artists from TVT. All in all, over 700 masters (roughly 80 albums) were bought by Bicycle (via Noisecreep).
The buyout also includes the publishing rights to NIN’s full catalog, which is Pretty Hate Machine all the way to the 2007 album Year Zero. Ghosts and The Slip were completed by Trent Reznor after his deal with the labels were done which is why they’re not owned by the company.
Because Bicycle Music bought all these master tapes, they plan on re-releasing Pretty Hate Machine in record stores and online. So if you want the actual album in your collection and not some burned copy with the title etched on a CD in sharpie, you’ll get your chance this year.
