Type O Negative frontman Peter Steele dead
There were rumors that started up late last night and as of this morning they were sadly confirmed. Type O Negative frontman Peter Steele died on April 14, 2010. He was 48 years old.
It was confirmed by Type O keyboardist Josh Silver when he broke the news to Blabbermouth. News of Steele’s death was first reported by Mistress Juliya of Fuse TV on her twitter page. No cause of death has been revealed yet but it’s assumed that Steele died of heart failure.
Steele was born Petrus J. Ratajczyk in Brooklyn, NY and was a monster of a frontman. His low singing voice made his one of the most recognizable in metal.
Not only did he sing for Type O, but he was also in the bands Fallout and Carnivore. There’s been an outpouring of love for the singer from bands including Hatebreed, Icarus and Biohazard.
