Listen: Weezer – “Brain Stew”

Surprisingly, on Record Store Day, some bands actually released CD’s instead of vinyl including Cage The Elephant, Tegan & Sara, Nada Surf and Weezer.
In the case of the Weez, the boys decided to release some new versions of their classic tunes “Buddy Holly” and “Why Bother” along with the Raditude tracks “I’m Your Daddy” featuring saxophonist/outdated hairdo owner Kenny G and “I Want You To” with Sara Bareilles.
But the track we’re streaming is the one cover they put on their release. They decided to take on Green Day’s “Brain Stew” and put their own spin on it. The end result? A piano driven version that only Rivers Cuomo could pull off.
Check it out to see what you missed if you didn’t grab this one on Record Store Day. If you like it you can download it over at Some Kind Of Awesome.
