Slayer, Megadeth performing entire albums on upcoming tour

Monday, April 26th, 2010

The upcoming American and Canadian Carnage tours featuring Slayer, Megadeth and Testament are already massive enough just with the bands that are performing. But they've decided to turn it up just a little bit more.
Both Slayer and Megadeth will play their classic albums in their entirety at every stop. Slayer will break out their album Seasons In The Abyss and Megadeth will rock out Rust In Peace from beginning to end (via Blabbermouth).… Read More

If you're not familiar with School Of Seven Bells here's all you really need to know. They make great music and there's attractive twin sisters in the band.
The Brooklyn band which features Benjamin Curtis (formerly of Secret Machines) and sisters Alejandra and Claudia Deheza (formerly of On! Air! Library!) are releasing their second LP this summer called Disconnect From Desire on July 13th. If you haven't heard any music from their first album,… Read More

Bret Michaels in critical condition

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

To say that Bret Michaels has been having a bad month would be an understatement.
Michaels went to the hospital a week ago to have an emergency appendectomy and is now listed to be in critical condition after suffering from a brain hemorrhage.
The Poison frontman headed to the hospital on April 23rd and is currently under close watch. A representative spoke on Michaels' behalf… Read More

Wolfmother’s drummer leaves the band

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

I don't wanna place full blame on Andrew Stockdale but why can't anyone who's in his band stick around?
Wolfmother drummer Dave Atkins has decided to quit the band after two years behind the skins. A recent statement released by the band says that Atkins wants to stay at home and spend time with his family.
The statement also says that everyone in the band is cool with the decision and had been auditioning new drummers ever since Stockdale performed… Read More

Listen: The Dead Weather – “Gasoline”

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Why can't every band sound like The Dead Weather? I'd be a much happier person.
Their sophomore LP, Sea Of Cowards, is but mere weeks away from being released in record stores on May 11 and to whet our appetites even further, a new track has surfaced online called "Gasoline". It's incredible.
The organ-driven tune features Alison Mosshart sounding like she's taken some vocal tips from Jack White when she sings on this track and I've never been more… Read More

RiO! Band of the Week – The Binges

Friday, April 23rd, 2010
It's been a while since a band from California claimed the title of Band of the Week but we're happy to say that this band takes the title with loud and hard rock music.

The Binges hail from Los Angeles and bring their own hard rock sound to knock the city of angels on its ass. With tracks like "Motorcycle Song" and "Hear Me Out", these songs feature screaming vocals and guitars that rock as hard as the hot Japanese chick playing the riffs.
The band… Read More

Watch: We Are Scientists – “Rules Don’t Stop”

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

I can't figure out why We Are Scientists aren't more popular in the U.S.
Catchy songs, memorable hooks, upbeat dance-rock and Keith Murray and Chris Cain are hysterical. But it seems after "Nobody Move, Nobody Gets Hurt" from their album With Love And Squalor, their buzz-band status never seemed to pick up. It upsets me because these guys are really good.
Which is why I'm excited that their new album, Barbara, will be in stores on… Read More

Listen: The National – High Violet

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Now if you're a good person you haven't obtained a leaked copy of The National's new album High Violet. I am not a good person so I'm trying to make it up by directing you to this.
If you make your way to the New York Times website, they're currently streaming the new record in its entirety. You would do well to listen to this record as it is a fantastic listen. It's only… Read More
