Guitar Hero: Red Hot Chili Peppers?

Guitar Hero and Rock Band aren’t going away anytime soon.
Between releasing exclusive games with bands like The Beatles, Green Day, Metallica, Aerosmith and Van Halen and with possible releases of Jimi Hendrix and The Who, the plastic guitar will continue to reign supreme as long as people have rock stardom fantasies.
The newest rumor is that Guitar Hero will release a Red Hot Chili Peppers version of the game (via Kotaku). It seems a survey was recently sent out to gauge the interest of a game featuring nothing but the music from the funk -rockers.
“Celebrate the entirety of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ life, starting with their early days in LA, to their famous Hyde Park concert to their highly anticipated new studio album,” the survey said. “Discover the story behind their legendary music as you unlock interviews, retrospectives, concert footage and other commentary.”
The survey also specifically mentioned music from the albums By The Way, Californication and an “upcoming studio album to be released in 2011.” OK then. Apparently we have a tentative release date for the new RHCP record.
Again, this is all still rumored but I wonder how distribution of the music will work since Frusciante is no longer in the band. Will there be a avatar for Frusciante or will new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer get all the digital spotlight? Will you be able to unlock Dave Navarro in the game? Whatever the case, if this actually gets made then go ahead and get it. Or make you parents buy it for you regardless of how old you are.
