They’re making a Beatles Zombie film
Just when you think that Hollywood’s run outta ideas they manage to pull this one out of their ass and give it a green light.
Spinner reports that a Beatles zombie flick has been approved for production. The film is based on a graphic novel by Alan Goldsher and it’s called Paul Is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion.
The premise of this oh-so-destined-to-be-classic film is that John Lennon murders the other three Beatles and then they come back as zombies and feast on the brains of their fans while staying away from the clutches of their nemesis Mick Jagger. I know. You’re dying to see this film, right?
The company Double Feature bought the rights to what essentially will be the cult classic. Double Feature partner Stacey Sher expressed her excitement about working on a film like this.
“I am a huge Beatles fan like the rest of the world and Alan’s mash-up, which really showcases his love of music history and his appreciation of the zombie world, is a fun, funny read.
“How can you not love a book where Jesus agrees with zombie John Lennon that the Beatles are in fact bigger than him?”
The film will seek funding and a cast soon. I have a pretty good feeling this is going to be the best case of using the “book was better than the movie” excuse.
