Axl Rose sues Irving Azoff

Things are starting to heat up in the legal system as Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose is now counter-suing his former manager Irving Azoff.

The whole debacle starter when Azoff and his company, Front Line Management, sued Rose saying that the singer owed him up to $2 million worth in fees. The agreement was that Rose would pay Azoff 15% of the $12.5 million that GnR made while on tour (via Antiquiet).

Rose is now counter-suing Azoff for $5 million dollars saying that Azoff tried to sabotage GnR by not significantly promoting the band’s new album Chinese Democracy and for mishandling concert dates that would ultimately put Rose “into a position where he would have no choice but to reunite with the original members of Guns N’ Roses for a reunion tour.”

Furthermore, Rose states in his claim that Azoff used the name William Bailey, Rose’s adopted name, in his suit to cause him emotional stress. “Azoff knew that the name William Bailey carries significant emotional damage,” states Rose’s suit.

So whose side are you on in this legal battle? Do you side with Azoff and think that Rose owes him money due to an “oral agreement”? Or do you take Axl’s side and feel that the manager is in the wrong for not promoting the new album? We’ll be sure to follow up on this case as it plays out.
