Devo releases fan-selected tracklist for new album

After two decades of waiting, fans of Devo can finally be happy knowing that a new album from the band is coming. They can also be happy that the songs on the new album, Something For Everybody, were selected by the fans.



The band recently announced the results of the “Devo Sound Study” where fans got to go to the band’s official website and select 12 tracks from the 16 that were presented to be put on the new LP. A press conference was held by Greg Scholl, the “COO” of the corporation known as “Devo, Inc.” and the man known as Jacob, whose official title is the band’s “Focus Group Facilitator and Research Analyst” (via CoS).

Later on in the press conference, Devo members Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale showed up via satellite link and read the names of the songs that would appear on the album. Those songs are listed down below and you can also watch the press conference as well. Something For Everybody will be in stores on July 15.

    Actually, this is not completely accurate. On DEVO’s official website, http://clubdevo.com, you can pre-order “Something For Everybody” which is advertised as being “88% focus group approved” with a slightly different tracklist than what was announced at the press conference.

    Gerald Casale maintains that the album will be released with the tracks as announced from the press conference, but also said that eventually all of the tracks will be released.
