Smashing Pumpkins announce intimate U.S summer tour
The Smashing Pumpkins aka Billy Corgan and the people he randomly picked and called the Smashing Pumpkins have outlined a summer tour which will consist of the band only playing small venues.
Billy and crew will begin their tour on July 6th at Cleveland, OH’s House of Blues and will end on July 24th in Memphis, TN at Minglewood Hall. While these shows will be tough to get into, Corgan is going to try and invite a few fans to watch them sound check before the shows.
“We are going to do something unique, which is play an invite-only set during sound check of almost all new, unreleased songs,” said Corgan. “We’re still figuring out a way to make it possible for some of the fans who’ll be in the line outside waiting to get in for that.”
The shows themselves will feature classic Pumpkins tunes as well as brand new songs from the bands Teargarden By Kaleidyscope project. The band just released the first of 11 Teargarden EP’s called Teargarden By Kaleidyscope: Songs For A Sailor EP. So if you’re a fan of the new music then you’ll be happy but if not then the classics will do just fine.
