How To Destroy Angels releasing full album in 2011

How To Destroy Angels has been the talk of the blogosphere recently. Trent Reznor, Mariqueen Maandig and Atticus Ross just released their debut EP at their official website for free on Tuesday (and if you haven’t downloaded it then please do so) but now there’s talk of a full-length album being released by this industrial trio (via TwentyFourBit).
Trent recently took to the band’s Tumblr page for a Q&A with fans. One asked when the band was going to drop an LP on the world and Reznor responded with, “We are working on a full length release now. We hope to have it released Q1 2011.” Q1 would mean the first quarter of 2011 in case you’re a bit dumb.
Reznor also answered the question as to why the band released an EP first and not go with the full length right off the bat. “This EP is an artifact of the very first experiments we tried together. We were going to wait until we had a large batch of songs and then distill them down from there, but we liked this first collection and decided to release them. I would expect the next release to sound a bit more focused as we discover more about our combined chemistry.”
So it looks like 2011 is going to start off quite nicely. Especially since we get a new LP with music by Trent Reznor.
