We like rock music more than you. It's just the way it is…

So Rock Band is releasing their special edition Green Day game this coming Tuesday which means, in the spirit of competition, Guitar Hero just made an announcement regarding their newest game and it’s gonna be a heavy one.

Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock is the newest installment in the long running plastic guitar franchise and the music will focus solely on the heavier side of rock n’ roll. More than 90 tracks from bands including Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Dragonforce, Children of Bodom, Avenged Sevenfold and many more will be featured in the game along with a brand new mode of play.

Warriors features something called “Quest-Mode” which, according to the press release (via Billboard.biz), allows players to “embark on a larger-than-life, epic rock journey from the stage of CBGBs, the infamous punk-rock club in New York City, to the molten lava fields of rock treachery as eight Guitar Hero characters transform into rock warriors that must join together to use their unique, game-changing powers to help the Demi-God of Rock take down “The Beast” and save rock n’ roll.”

BTW the “Demi-God” is voiced by none other than rock god in real life Gene Simmons. The game will be in stores this September for all gaming consoles. Down below you can check out some of the tracks featured in the game as well as the trailer.
