Conan O’Brien and Jack White team up at Third Man Records

The epicness that went down at Nashville, TN’s Third Man Records on Thursday night was so epic that they even recorded it all on vinyl. That’s right, guys. Conan O’Brien and Jack White made a record together. Best rock album of the year or best comedy album?

““I’ve had a crazy six months,” said O’Brien, according to TwentyFourBit. “Six months ago, I was the host of The Tonight Show, the greatest franchise in the history of television. Then I started a live tour, going from small theater to small theater. And tonight I’m pressing a vinyl recording. I’m going back in time! Next week I’ll be on vaudeville. Then i’ll be a steamship captain.”

The entire performance was recorded on analog tape and will be pressed into a record. At one point during the show, Conan and his band had to stop for a few minutes so they could switch the first reel of tape. I swear Jack White knows how to do it right.

Speaking of Jack, he did join Conan on stage to play Eddie Cochran’s song “20 Flight Rock” and also added to the laughter when he placed a chimmney sweep’s hat on top of the redhead during his rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep.”

What makes this even sweeter is that, according to Consequence of Sound, not only did they record the performance onto vinyl but Conan also recorded a song he wrote called “Conrad Bain” along with Jack. Pre-orders were being taken after the show so as soon as that song comes out, you know we’ll be streaming it here.

UPDATE: Video exists. Down below you can check out Jack White introducing Conan and the “Legally Prohibited” Band at the very top of the show. Also, PItchfork has revealed that a vinyl of the entire show will be available to the general public. You can pre-order it by going to the Third Man Records website.
