RiO! Band of the Week – Billy Boy On Poison
The city of Los Angeles, CA gets to wield the Band of the Week title this time around thanks to the 70′s punk-rock stylings of the band Billy Boy On Poison.
These raven-haired rockers call upon the sounds of old school punk rock such as The Stooges and the New York Dolls as their influences while also sprinkling a bit of The Strokes on top. Their song, “On My Way,” was an iTunes song of the week and their music was even featured in a commercial featuring U.S. speed skater Apolo Ohno that aired during the Winter Olympics. I think it’s safe to say punk-rock changed their lives.
