Jimmy Page releasing new material this year
What with John Paul Jones hanging out with some crooked vultures and Robert Plant releasing his new Band of Joy album in September, it’s only fair that Jimmy Page should get in on the fun of releasing some new music.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Page said that he’s got an idea for a project that he’s been working on for a long time and he feels that now is the time to record and release some new songs. “I’m just looking forward to making some music and surprising people with it,” Page said. “It won’t be just teaming up with lots of people who are [big] names. I’ve got an idea of something which I’ve had for a long time and now’s the time to do it.”
Page said that doing a “supergroup” sort of thing is not on his agenda citing when he did that at the O2 Arena in London. So I guess we won’t be seeing a team up with Jack White or even The Edge on a record…unless he’s just being sneaky and will record with big names but doesn’t want to say anything. Page, you shifty bastard.
Regarding what the music will sound like, Page wants to keep that info on the QT. He said that, far too often, “you have four members and people automatically think what it’s going to be like, and if they know too much up front it can be really disappointing. I’ve see that happen on a number of occasions. So I’d rather keep what I’m doing very quiet. I’ve always done that, to be honest with you. It seems to be the best way to go about things.”

I think that such musicians like Robert Plant and Jimmy Page can’t just stay at home and taking some rest. Music is in their blood – so, it’s not a surprise that Jimmy for sure will make a good project this autumn. Your fans are waiting for you, Jimmy!
