New Bad Religion album out in September

I know a lot of people who consistently used the phrase “Punk is Dead.” But maybe…just maybe this coming September, those people may see a punk resurrection with the release of a new Bad Religion album.

A Bad Religion fan site has posted a “new album countdown” clock on their main page which counts down to September 28, 2010. That is the day the band’s new album, which is still untitled, is expected to be released.

This album will follow up their last studio effort which was 2007′s New Maps of Hell. 2010 also marks the band’s 30th anniversary which, according to guitarist Brett Gurewitz, is a “time when [vocalist] Greg [Graffin] and I have embarked on new creative pursuits which have informed our songwriting process.” (via Epitaph)

In addition to a new album, the band started hyping up a North American tour this year when they said on their Facebook page for all “north americaners, set your clocks for october.” They also plan on doing a South American tour in early 2011.
