Street Sweeper Social Club releasing new EP this summer

The band featuring Tom Morello and Boots Riley, aka Street Sweeper Social Club, are getting ready to release their second album. This time it’s a seven song work entitled The Ghetto Blaster EP.

Not only will this record feature five original songs including a remix of their single “Promenade” but it will also feature two covers. The bands puts their own spin on LL Cool J’s classic “Mama Said Knock You Out” and M.I.A’s mega-hit “Paper Planes” (via CoS). If you haven’t seen SSSC live before, these are two songs that they play at almost every gig.

The EP will be in stores on July 27th and then the band will play the Rock The Bells traveling festival. Four shows will be held in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City and Washington, D.C.
