For a while in the indie-world, She & Him’s Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward were the princess and prince of the cute boy/girl duo act. But their reign is about to be challenged by a new couple that uses their first names in their band name.



Jenny and Johnny are Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis and her BF Johnathan Rice. They’re releasing their first album called I’m Having Fun Now later this year but they’d like you to download their first single for free. It’s called “Scissor Runner” and you can grab it at their website.

In addition to a new album, the couple will be touring through the U.S. starting September 1st in Santa Cruz, CA. While these shows will probably sell out fast due to hipsters in 50′s clothing trying to look hip on the scene, Jenny and Johnny will also open for Pavement at two shows in Brooklyn and Boston and will open for Belle and Sebastian on October 3rd in Hollywood. All tour dates are down below as well. You can get tickets for the shows starting June 25th at Ticketmaster.
