The Walkmen playing with The National, The Black Keys, Japandroids and more
That picture you see there is the cover art for the brand new forthcoming album from The Walkmen. Which means with a new album usually comes a tour to support it. But The Walkmen aren’t fooling around on their upcoming summer and fall tours as they’ll take the stage with some heavy-hitters in the indie-rock world.
Their tour kicks off on July 2nd in Minneapolis, MN and they’ll play a string of fests including Lollapalooza and Reading and Leeds in the UK. Following their festival commitments, the band will tour North America accompanied by bands including The National, The Helio Sequence, Japandroids, A.A. Bondy and one appearance with Grizzly Bear at New York’s Governors Island (via CoS).
After the North American leg of the tour, the band will head out to the UK to play shows with The Black Keys. Basically, if you should see the Walkmen on tour at any time this summer, you’ll be sure to get your indie fill for the day. Tickets for all the shows go on sale starting June 25th at Ticketmaster.
The band’s new album, Lisbon, is in stores on September 14th.
