More bands continue to boycott Arizona; protest concerts to be held in July

Zach de la Rocha has amped up his charge against Arizona’s new immigration law which allows local authorities to question anyone who may be suspected of being an illegal resident of the state.
The RATM frontman first announced that more bands have joined The Sound Strike, which is a group of artists, bands, performers, etc. that are refusing to play in Arizona until the law has been repealed. Most recently, bands including Nine Inch Nails, My Morning Jacket, Gogol Bordello and Maroon 5 have joined in this cause.
Secondly, de la Rocha revealed that concerts will be held this July in protest of the law. He told Billboard that “Many of us have begun to plan concerts that include bands that have signed on the Sound Strike, and make tickets available so that people within Arizona can come and see these concerts as they roll out. These are things that are being set into motion right now – a series of concerts or maybe even one giant concert in late July.”
He added that “there’s a strong chance” that Rage Against The Machine would play one or more of these shows. Which means if any of these concerts hit the east coast and Rage is playing, i’ll be there with a picket sign, upside down American flag and whatever else protestors wear and bring. Just as long as I get to see Rage, i’ll protest whatever they want.
