Bruce Springsteen re-issuing Darkness on the Edge of Town this fall
The Boss is re-issuing his epic 1978 album Darkness on the Edge of Town and, according to E-Street band guitarist Little Steven Van Zandt, they’re hoping to release it “for Christmas.”
reports that Van Zandt did an interview with BBC Radio and revealed that Springsteen’s deluxe edition of the album will include up to ten outtakes and possibly even more. Plus, they may also add a few vocal overdubs to the older material – not unlike what the Rolling Stones did to their re-issue of Exile on Main Street.
However, Van Zandt said that the whole album wouldn’t be tweaked. “We’ll go back and he might finish a lyric on one or two, or finish a harmony on one or two,” he said, “but we’ll keep them intact pretty much.”
So if this re-issue actually does come out this holiday season, then fans will probably argue that it is indeed the most wonderful time of the year.
