Watch: Pearl Jam – “Amongst the Waves”
Pearl Jam are joining many other bands to help raise awareness of the massive oil spill in the Gulf region and have released a brand new video for the song “Amongst the Waves” from their album Backspacer.
Up top you can check out the video which splices in footage of a father and daughter swimming in bright, blue water among dolphins and wildlife and images of the band performing the song on a stage. But they bring the message home at the end of the video with insane pictures of what the oil spill looks like and the damage it’s caused the ocean.
The band is selling the video on iTunes on July 6th and all the profits are going to Conservation International’s ocean campaign. The band has started a new website where you can read up on how oceans impact the earth and links to where you can find out more information on oceans and how to do your part to clean them up.
