Bright Eyes playing Nebraska immigration rally

With more bands joining Zach de la Rocha’s Sound Strike, which is a group of bands and performers that refuse to play in Arizona until their new immigration law is repealed, concerts are starting to be put together to protest immigration policies.

Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes is throwing the first musical punch by holding an immigration rally in Omaha, Nebraska (do they have an immigration problem in Nebraska?) on July 31st, according to Consequence of Sound. Bright Eyes and Oberst’s punk band Desparecidos are scheduled to play the show which will protest the decision by Freemont, Nebraska’s government to pass an immigration law (that state really has an immigration problem?)

More bands are set to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets for the show range from $20 to $50 and will go on sale starting July 10th.
