Queens of the Stone Age playing L.A. benefit show

For the first time in two years, Queens of the Stone Age are playing a show on U.S. soil. Those of you that go to this show are some lucky bastards.
We reported a while back that Them Crooked Vultures are holding benefit concerts for Brian O’Connor, the bassist for Eagles of Death Metal, since he was recently diagnosed with cancer. The concerts are to raise money to help pay his medical bills.
But the lovefest continues with Josh Homme bringing back QOTSA for another benefit concert on August 12th at Club Nokia in Los Angeles (via CoS). This is the one time I wish I lived in L.A.
This is the only U.S. show that Queens is scheduled to play this year. The rest of their gigs are all festivals in Europe this summer including Reading and Leeds in the UK and Rock En Seine in France. After the shows, Homme has said that the band will start working on their new record which he hopes will be out by the middle of next year. Plus, a re-issue of their album Rated R will be in stores on August 3rd. I think it’s safe to say the comeback has officially begun.
