Big Four of Thrash shows may happen in North America

With all the Big Four of Thrash shows that were taking place in Europe during the Sonisphere festivals, we here in the U.S. and Canada were a bit peeved that the Euros were getting shows of a historical nature and we got nothing. But all that may change come 2011.

In an interview with Classic Rock magazine, drummer Lars Ulrich said that he would definitely be all for Big Four of Thrash shows “in 2011 or 2012, obviously in England and the United States. It’s just a matter of logistics. I don’t think there’s anybody involved who considers there’s a sell-by date on this.”

Right now, however, Metallica is planning on touring until November with their final shows taking place in Australia. After that, Ulrich says that he “is going home. I’m going to sit at home, and I know the other fellas in the band are gong to do the same thing.” He added that the band would take at least six months off “and do nothing, and then at some point in the spring or summer of 2011 we’ll start to figure out what to do next.”
