Slipknot drummer says the band will release a new album

Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison is hopefully calming all the fears fans may have regarding the rumors of the band possibly breaking up.

In an interview with Fuse TV’s Mistress Juliya at the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, Jordison said that there will “absolutely” be a new record. At the Revolver Golden Gods Awards back in April, Jordison said a new album would be out in 2012 and he’s sticking to that date.

Regarding the death of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray, he also wanted to “thank all the fans for their support on my loss. But there will be another record for sure.” So it looks like the band will soldier on after all, maggots. Get ready for 2012.

You can watch Jordison’s entire interview with Juliya down below. He also talks about the Mayhem festival and the new Murderdolls record, Women and Children Last, which is coming out on August 31st.
