Gorillaz touring North America…then the world

Gorillaz bassist Murdoc Niccals made my day this morning when he announced via Twitter that Gorillaz were going to tour North America in October.
Yes indeed! Damon Albarn will bring his traveling animated circus stateside starting October 3rd with a show in Montreal. The rest of the dates haven’t been revealed yet but we do know they’ll play 20 shows. It was announced that they would play their first headlining gig at Madison Square Garden in NYC on October 8th which means you already know what show I’ll be going to.
Ticket info hasn’t been released either but if you sign up to be a member of their fan club, the Sub-Division, you’ll get access to a 48-hour pre-sale for tickets. Sign up for the Sub-Division right over here.
After Gorillaz finish rocking out the U.S. and Canada, they’ll be headed around the world to play pretty much the entire globe. Shows in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand are scheduled to take place for the Escape To Plastic Beach tour. Some of the tour dates are listed below with plenty more to come. You should be very excited by now.
