Gorillaz touring North America…then the world

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Gorillaz bassist Murdoc Niccals made my day this morning when he announced via Twitter that Gorillaz were going to tour North America in October.
Yes indeed! Damon Albarn will bring his traveling animated circus stateside starting October 3rd with a show in Montreal. The rest of the dates haven't been revealed yet but we do know they'll play 20 shows. It was announced that they would play their first headlining gig at Madison Square Garden in NYC on October… Read More

Avenged Sevenfold premiere new song with Call Of Duty footage

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

The way I see it, hard-rock and video games about war go hand in hand. So it makes sense to me that a new song from Avenged Sevenfold would be made into a music video featuring footage from Call of Duty.

Rob Zombie to tour with Alice Cooper and Murderdolls

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Remember when Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper toured earlier this year as the Gruesome Twosome? They only played seven dates, five in Canada and two in the U.S., but they must have had fun because they're doing it again. This time, though, they're bringing Murderdolls along for the ride.
In an interview with 107.7 The Bone's Nikki Blakk (who, in my expert opinion, is a chick that has a face for radio), current Rob Zombie drummer Joey Jordison dropped the news… Read More

Big Four of Thrash shows may happen in North America

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010
With all the Big Four of Thrash shows that were taking place in Europe during the Sonisphere festivals, we here in the U.S. and Canada were a bit peeved that the Euros were getting shows of a historical nature and we got nothing. But all that may change come 2011.

In an interview with Classic Rock magazine, drummer Lars Ulrich said that he would definitely… Read More

Listen: Beck – “Summertime”

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

It's safe to say that Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is going to be an interesting movie. It's also safe to say that the soundtrack is going to be quite a good listen since it features new music from Beck. I'll tell you what not safe to say though; that you want to rape and kill your cousin. I can almost guarantee that'll never fly with anyone.
ANYWAYS, we have ourselves a brand new song from Mr. Hansen (courtesy of Consequence… Read More

Watch: Jack White & Dave Grohl perform at the White House

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010
Back in June, there was a concert held at the White House in honor of Paul McCartney for winning the Gershwin award for Popular Music. Stars from all music genres came to perform at the concert and to pay tribute to Sir Macca. The concert was filmed and will air on PBS on July 28th. But since we can't wait that long, we got some videos of the performance that you're sure to enjoy.
